Leaks & burst pipes
Hidden leaks under slabs and behind tiled walls, weeping compression joints, split risers and failed flexible hoses. Acoustic and pressure testing happen before any opening is made.
Same day where a slot remains
Same-day slots release at 7am. Burst pipes and sewer overflows take the first call, every day of the week.
Request a visitLicensed plumbing & gasfitting
We work on houses that have been plumbed four times already. We trace the actual fault instead of the symptom, show you what we found, and leave your walls roughly where we found them.
Before anything is cut
Most callouts are decided before a tool comes out of the van. We make the room safe, confirm what is actually failing, then put a price in front of you — including the option of doing nothing today.
Scope
Written plainly so you can tell in one read whether we are the right van to send. Lead times assume a standard week — emergencies are handled separately.
Hidden leaks under slabs and behind tiled walls, weeping compression joints, split risers and failed flexible hoses. Acoustic and pressure testing happen before any opening is made.
Same day where a slot remains
Kitchen, bathroom, laundry and main sewer lines. Camera inspection first; the root cutter only comes out once roots are confirmed on screen, and you get to look at the footage.
Same day or next morning
Storage and continuous-flow replacements, thermostats, anodes, tempering valves and relief-valve failures, across gas and electric. We size the unit to the house, not to the box on the van.
One to two days
Rough-in through to final fit, with the waterproofer and tiler sequenced around our dates so the room is not sitting open for a fortnight waiting on us.
Booked two to four weeks ahead
Cartridge and seat replacements, pan collars, inlet valves, running cisterns and in-wall cistern servicing. Small jobs are grouped, so tell us everything on your list when you book.
Within the week
Cooktop and heater connections, bayonet points, leak testing and compliance checks. Certificates are issued and lodged on completion rather than promised and forgotten.
Within the week
An annual walk-through of stop taps, flexible hoses, tempering valves, anodes and downpipe-to-drain flow, with a written list of what is near the end of its life.
Scheduled with you
Not on this list: roof replacement, hydronic heating design, and anything requiring an engineer's certification. We will say so on the phone rather than send a van.
The visit
Five steps, the same every time, whether it is a dripping tap or a sewer line full of roots.
We ask three questions: what stopped working, when it started, and what you have already tried. That is usually enough to tell you whether it is a today job or a this-week job.
A one-hour arrival window is confirmed on the morning of the visit. If the job before yours turns out to be worse than it looked, the plumber tells you directly instead of leaving you watching the driveway.
Camera, moisture meter or pressure test, depending on the fault. You are welcome to watch the screen, and we would rather you did — it makes the next decision much easier.
The repair that gets you through, and the longer fix if there is one, both written down before work starts. If the honest answer is that the fitting has another two years in it, we will say that too.
Drop sheets down, the old part bagged if you want to keep it, and a short written note of what we replaced and what to keep an eye on next season.
Buying guidance
Two identical-sounding leaks can be hours apart in work. These are the factors that actually move a plumbing quote, and the things you can do at booking time to keep it down.
| Factor | Why it matters | What helps |
|---|---|---|
| Access | Under-floor crawl spaces, second-storey risers and fully tiled walls all add time before the repair itself begins. | Empty the vanity cupboard, and tell us roughly how old the house is when you book. |
| Age of the fittings | Older copper and galvanised runs cannot always be part-replaced; once a section is disturbed, the next joint often follows. | Send a photo of the stop tap and the meter so we can load the right fittings. |
| Parts on the van | Common cartridges, seals, collars and tempering valves travel with us. Imported tapware and in-wall gear has to be ordered in. | Name the brand if you know it, or photograph the handle and spout. |
| Time of day | After-hours attendance is charged at the emergency rate because it is a second trip for the plumber on call. | If it can safely wait until 7am, say so and we will book you first light. |
| Making good | We patch, seal and reinstate what we opened. Tiling, plastering and painting are separate trades and separate quotes. | Keep any spare tiles from the original job — matching old stock is the expensive part. |
| Compliance | Hot water, gas and backflow work requires certification to be issued and lodged, which is chargeable time. | Nothing to do — it is already an itemised line on your quote, never a surprise. |
Coverage
Both vans run a zone rota so travel does not eat your appointment. Booking on your zone's day usually buys you a tighter arrival window.
Emergencies ignore the rota entirely. If water is running where it should not be, send the form through at any hour and note it as urgent.
Questions
It is common in older places and it is not a dealbreaker. It does mean the whole house goes off at the meter while we work, so we fit isolation valves as part of the repair wherever the pipework allows. After that, the next tap job only takes one room offline.
For the first fifteen minutes, yes — that is when we show you the fault and agree the price. After that you are free to get on with your day, as long as we can reach you to approve anything unexpected.
Only as a last resort, and never without asking first. We will try access from the cupboard, the ceiling below or an external wall before touching a tiled face. If cutting is the only route, we show you exactly where and how large the opening will be.
Yes, and on fit-outs we would rather coordinate the sequence than be dropped into it. Give us your other trades' names at booking and we will set the rough-in and final-fit dates around their availability.
Water you cannot stop, sewage surfacing anywhere, no water at all to the house, or a suspected gas leak. A dripping tap, a slow drain or a cold second shower are all genuinely fine to book for the morning, and you will pay less for the wait.
Yes. Hot water replacements, gas appliance connections and backflow work are all certified and lodged on completion, with a copy sent to you. The certification is itemised on the quote before you accept it.
For like-for-like replacements, often yes — a clear photo of the unit's data plate or the tap handle gets you an indicative figure. Anything involving a leak, a blockage or a wall cavity needs eyes on it, because photo quotes for those are guesses dressed up as numbers.
Yes, with one condition: we need a direct line to whoever can approve spending on the day. Waiting on an approval chain while a tenant has no hot water is the main reason maintenance jobs turn into two visits.
